The forum search engine didn't want to show me wise speeches from the past.:)
For me it is also hard to find where
I remember about it, and still have a SNG directory on my disk. Finaly the "sng midi nasa" was the right keywords :ds_icon_cheesygrin:

And when you compete, you may very well try to keep your advantages to yourself or, at the least, try not to draw the attention of your competitors to it. Failure to do so resulted in e.g. the Commodore 16/+4 scene in certain cases in animosity between the sceners and some exaggerated measures.

Oh. I was hoping that such ‘wars’ were left in the 90's.
I've seen it in old Russian demos for Spectrum (and in new ones sometimes too). There was a lot of stuff going on there in those times.

Here and here.

As I wrote: SNG player looks universal, simple way to tray it replace file in Nasa&guy 2 or 8 demo. 2 accept about 13900 bytes SNG file, 8 about 12800 bytes.

BUT! The instrument set used for Dave playing are different in the two demos (and probably in the all others which use SNG songs).

I wonder why they didn't design it as a separate program to play this type of file?
Obviously, the author would be the only one who could answer your question, but I have an assumption that may have some truth to it. The demoscene is not only a community of friendship, but a community of competition, too. And when you compete, you may very well try to keep your advantages to yourself or, at the least, try not to draw the attention of your competitors to it. I see that some demos and games use music files from the Atari ST: .SNG (The Music Studio Song)

The built-in player is very simple, but plays a lot of files I've fed it (by file swapping).
I wonder why they didn't design it as a separate program to play this type of file?

Tutti Frutti - file TUTTY_2.PRG
NASA Guy demo 1 - built-in
NASA Guy demo 2 - ACC1.SNG
NASA Guy demo 8 - CALYPSO.SNG
NASA Guy demo 11 - TANGO.SNG

SNG songs I take here https://www.noniandjim.com/Jim/MusicStudio/MusicStudio.html

Azt hittem, hogy gyorsabb lesz, de nem. Alt+W-vel egész jó. :)
Zzzippel lefordítva is egész jó.
