1) Povi finished the EP version of the Atomix (http://enterprise.8bit.hu/games/A/PRG/atomix.zip)
2) geco transfered from CPC the Exolon (http://enterprise.8bit.hu/games/E/PRG/Exolon-CPC.zip) , this version is more colorful than Spectrum version. He is works on more CPC games transfering.
3) tigrian developed the PS/2 keyboard interface (http://tigrian.fw.hu/u27pics/minidin.html). With this great hardware you can use any PS/2 keyboard for EP (parallel with the original keyboard). The interface use redefiniable tables for key conversions, you can make different tables for UK,BRD,HUN EPs and different language PS/2 keyboards.
4) Zozosoft and Hsoft works on new version of EPDOS (great file/disk manager for EP), for compatibility with the hard disks
5) Zozosoft finished the version 4.1 ROM for Spectrum Emulator Card (http://www.esnet.hu/~enterprise/zx41.zip), the most important addition: load support for .TAP and .TZX files. New version will coming, for loading .Z80 snapshots.
6) Zozosoft now works on software for IDE interface card, curently now writing the FDISK utility

Hiya Povi,
Do these games (Bumpy & Pop Up) work on EP32?
I am having problems with both.

Bumpy loads the screen, and then the program, then I cannot get it to do anything else.
Pop Up loads up ok, the starfield scrolls, and then same problem as above.

Do I need to use ep128emu for these, or am I missing something else?

And in the Popup, when scrolling, then press 1 or 2 or 3.

Ok... working now!
Never knew I had to press those keys. Must be missing the instructions somewhere! ;)

Is one of the bugs in the controls?
In Bumpy I pressed the UP key to bounce higher to get back up a level on the platform.
Could not get the same to work in Popup.

PS... shall continue scanning 'Private Enterprise' soon. Life has been that busy.

In the Popup you can bounce with the ALT key :) (This is also work in the Bumpy, if you selected the Internal Joy) and in the current version of Popup, you can use also the Space for bouncing.

If you selected the Keyboard controlls in the Bumpy, the keys are the Q-A-O-P (Spectrum standard :) )

In both game, if you go to trap, press S for restart level. P=Pause game, but currently do not use in the Popup :)

Geco,

Thanks for converting those - managed to waste several hours playing Donkey Kong !!

Did they ever do a version of a game called Elite for the Amstrad CPC? I know they did a Spectrum version (and several other versions as well) - the BBC version was one of the greatest games ever if your looking for something else to convert !!

Cheers

Tricky

P.s. Did Elite ever make it to Hungary?

Thanks Geco - not that bothered about the filled in planets - more the frame rate - one of the reasons I bought a 2nd processor for my bbc was to play Elite a bit faster  :)

Surprised people havent played it much over there - here its considered one of the greatest games of all time.

IstvanV started a project for converting PC images to Enterprise format, using the maximal possibilities of the Nick chip!
There is some examples:

IstvanV has continued his project. Here is the image converter program, from PC to EP: EPimgconv (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek_downloads/epimgconv-t358.0.html;msg9921;topicseen#msg9921)
In this topic  (http://enterpriseforever.com/enterprise_forum/pc_ep_kepkonverzio-t27.0.html)you can find some converted pictures and links to converted pictures.

EPimgconv can be used under DOS prompt. (First unpack files by WinZip.)
An example for using it:
Code: [Select]
epimgconv foo.jpg foo.comVideo mode can be selected by -mode parameter (default is 2).
-raw 1 parameter enables to save in raw format, instead of the default .com application format.
-size W H enables to set picture size in characters.
As default, Epimgconv converts images into the largest possible size, but by using -scale X Y and -offset X Y parameters  the image can be enlarged and offset.
JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF and XPM file formats are supported.

(Maybe a more detailed guide will be available soon, as for video modes.)

New version (http://enterpriseforever.com/dlattach.html;topic=102.0;attach=1362), it is also run on Enterprise 64 :-)
Added new function, the STOP key will exit from the program. It is important on 64K machines, because can't be exited via the warm restart rutine (the system segment temporary overwrited while the game runnig, but it is restored if you press the STOP key).

Anyway, I am unsure if the expression "normal vertical resolution" exists. How is it said in English? I mean the contrary of "interlace mode". Sometimes I left in the text the Hungarian expression "normál függõleges felbontás".

We already wrote about the EPimgconv, a PC util that makes it possible to convert PC pictures into Enterprise format. In the beginning it only converted into .com (application) format which means that the converted picture can be viewed by running that application on the Enterprise.
EPimgconv enables to save in raw format as well, but there wasn't any Enterprise software to view these raw format pictures. Recently Zozosoft began to write a viewer software for the Enterprise that makes it possible to view the raw format picures (IVIEW). It's still in beta version but is well usable. You can download it here, in the same package as EPimgconv. (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek_downloads/pc_utils-t358.0.html)

IVIEW is easy to use: Being IVIEW in the memory, you can simply load a raw format picture (load or start command). Having viewed the picture you can restart the machine by pressing any key.
Using IVIEW in EXT format (:IVIEW) Hsoft's :FILE extension is also needed. (You can find :FILE extension in Zozotools. (http://www.ep128.hu/Ep_Util/Prg/ZozoTools18.rar)) This way you can browse the pictures, load the selected picture and return to browse. Creating an IVIEW.INI file can be also useful because it can contain the filenames of the pictures and IVIEW shows them as a slideshow. IVIEW.INI must be a simple text file which can be created this way:
PC:
Code: [Select]
DIR /B >IVIEW.INIEnterprise in WP:
Code: [Select]
DIR /Wthen delete the unnecessary lines and save it by pressing F3.

IstvanV made a video player (!) for the Enterprise (Iplay). PC video formats can be converted into Iplay format. The converter package and Iplay can be found among the downloads (PC Utils). (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek_downloads/pc_utils-t358.0.html) Some example videos can be found here. (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek_downloads/enterprise_video-t453.0.html) English guide is coming soon. Iplay can be used like Iview: load a video directly by START or LOAD command. IPLAY.INI can be used, too.

Furthermore, also a software VIC-20 emulator is available for Enterprise, made by Geco (download here). (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek_downloads/enterprise_software-t454.0.html) It's not really finished, yet, sound is not tested and load/save is not possible at the moment.

Have fun!

Amstrad CPC software emulator V1.2
AY emulation routine has been improved:
Envelope emulation has been added
Noise emulation is better

There are limitations of the emulation you can read about it in the download section.
The zip file contains two version, the first is playing the first noise request for channel 0-2, it does not care further requests, the second version goes thru all 3 channels if it has any noise request and play the last if the volume value of the channel is greater than 0. Unfortunately on EP only one noise can be played in the same time, it is the limit of A6 register.

This game was written to CPC in 2005, I decided converting it when I tested CPC games in software CPCemu on EP. Loading screen has been created to the game, unfortunately the loading screen is destroyed on EP64 when the main program loads, because there is not enough memory, but the program succesfully loads (HERO can be loaded directly, you do not need to load HERO.COM), there is a cheat option also ("Cheat Y/N" text), EP64 owners do not worry if you do not see the text (you se nothing. :D ) when the program has been loaded, simply press one key, if you press Y, then you get infinite lives, and dynamites. There is a small surprise also, a DTM music had been inserted to the beginning of the GAME, I did not have enough space to do it, therefore the secondary screen had been removed from the game, this is the reason why room changes are not so smooth on EP than on CPC.

Some my work from the last few months:
-Laser Squad (http://ep128.hu/Ep_Games/Prg/Laser_Squad.rar) converted from ZX Spectrum. Included all know official and unofficial extra levels. Added capatibility for multiple save files.

- Modified the original RAMDISK routine in the EXDOS (http://enterpriseforever.com/dlattach.html;topic=283.0;attach=3272). Now supported size greater than 2 Mb. (The latest ep128emu rom package use these modified versions)

- new version IDE interface ROM (http://enterpriseforever.com/dlattach.html;topic=340.0;attach=3484) released, the EP formated partiotions have a better compatibility with the Microsoft operating system. Memory allocation modified, now limited to max 15 partitions (F:-T:). With this lower system segment usage more programs (for example Small Demo) run correctly with hard disk system.

- some bugs fixed in the FDISK.BAS (http://enterpriseforever.com/dlattach.html;topic=340.0;attach=3505) and added warning message at the partition delete :-)

Thank you!

How are these games made?
Are they writen from scratch?
Or from their Spectrum binaries with "just" a modification of calls to graphics, sounds and other ports?

Hello OA128

The games by me are conversions from Amstrad CPC, or Spectrum, they are just modified graphics, sounds and other ports, I tried to add some plus to the games, ex. W*H*B got colors, Sorcery+ got the loading screen of Amiga, and more colours on the bottom of the screen, and it hes been converted from a multipart game to a single part, so it is loaded into 128Kb, H.E.R.O got a MOD style music...
The hardware environment should be emulated or changed.

The program emulates Sinclair ZX81 with 16kB of RAM, approximately 80% of softwares are running on the emulator.
The program is EXOS compatible, runs on EP64 too, and all function is available which is available on EP128.
F1 - Help for ZX81 keys
F2 - Directory, and Load (if EXDOS exists, if it is not available then LOAD "filename" can be used, file name can be max 10 characters)
F7 - Reset Emulator

It is a masterpiece of Russian Demo scene from Pentagon (ZX Spectrum clone), the size of unpacked binaries are about 410 Kb, unfortunately the music is not so good as on Pentagon, because it uses the specialities of AY chip (high frequency envelope), and the conversion emulates the envelope in 50Hz interrupt :(

A conversion of the Boulder Dash games (1, 2, and 3, as well as Boulder Dash 1 and 2 Classic Collections converted from ZX Spectrum) has just been released for the Enterprise here (http://enterpriseforever.com/cpcr337l/boulder_dash-t599.0.html;msg22236#msg22236) (Hungarian). It was converted from the Amstrad CPC version, but the package also includes loading screens, graphics, and levels from C64 and Spectrum. This program is compatible with, and runs at a playable speed on the EP64, but also supports "turbo" machines running at 6 or 7.12 MHz.

An updated version is now available here (http://ep4ever.org/cpcr337l/boulder_dash-t599.0.html;msg22400#msg22400).

NOTE: in this version, the bd2cc_a2.lvl level set does not work correctly, the rooms where the player starting position or the exit is in the bottom row will not create a player character or exit. This is caused by an update that made the program emulate the behavior of the C64 version of Boulder Dash 2 more accurately; however, this "classic collection" was made for the Spectrum, where the game is apparently implemented in a slightly different way. The problem can be fixed easily by copying bd2cc_a2.lvl from the previous (http://ep4ever.org/cpcr337l/boulder_dash-t599.0.html;msg22285#msg22285) version, since the older file does not activate the "C64 compatible" mode. The other bd2cc level sets do not seem to have this problem.

Here are two Lua scripts that can be used in the ep128emu debugger:

[attachurl=#]
[attachurl=#]

The first one displays all maps in the bd1cc and bd2cc collections: just load and run the game (in EP128 mode), and then load the script, set the directory where the bd1cc_*.lvl and bd2cc_*.lvl files are found at the beginning of the script (e.g. levelFileDir = "C:\\bouldash\\"), and then run the script. It can be controlled with the internal joystick, A-Z, 1-9, and function keys.

The second script allows for creating new levels, although it is very simple and limited (there can be only one map in the .lvl file, and some features of the game are not supported). It should be used while the game is running, at the menu / title screen. By default, it creates the new level in memory (it can be played immediately as cave A), but by setting an output file name, an .lvl file can also be written instead; however, the output file needs to be compressed first (with dtf -cr -lz2) to be usable.

P.S.: there is an updated version available at the downloads (http://ep4ever.org/letoeltesek_downloads/egyeb_misc-t187.15.html), that fixes the problem described above, and there are a few other changes as well. It also includes the bdlvdisp.lua and bdlvl.lua scripts, and the complete source code.

It runs on EP64 too, littlebit slower than the CPC version, but on EP128 it is much faster :D

Download: Sub Hunter (http://enterpriseforever.com/dlattach.html;topic=193.0;attach=6709) Converted Amstrad CPC game.
This game is a new release on Amstrad too, it has been published on 19.02.2011.

The game requires 112Kb RAM, I did not try converting the program to run on EP64, there are several reasons:
I should use extra memory for the wave effect, for various LPT's, and a special loader should be written for loading the program, CPC version had packed data, this is the reason why we have to wait between 2 levels so much, on EP with the extra memory, unpack is not used therefore the wait time decreased.
The game is EXOS compatible, cheat implemented, and some extra built in:
Intro part got some extra colours.
Game
Sub Hunter picture got new colors
Wave effect is better, and got more colours than on CPC
C64 bubble effect implemented
Press Fire text got 16 colours, original version had 8
and some other extra colors

Press any key F1-F8 when Psytronik logo appeared to load Easter Egg for any other key program continue loading the game.
When the game loaded, you can press the following keys any time:
F1 - Infinite lives on
F2 - Infinite lives off
F5 - Skip level
F7 - Return to game menu

Game controls:
Q A O P Space/Int Joy/Ext2 Joy

SID player for Enterprise 128 has been finished, it can play SID files up to 60 kb, the software is EXOS compatible.
Some of the SID files hangs the player, which writes into area 0D000h-0DFFFh, this area contains the code of the player
Enjoy it :)

Nice program :-)

But I can not get it to work. I am using ep128emu. I have put the sid files on a floppy image. I then load the player with load "file:sidplay.com" and it loads fine and shows the sids on the disc. I can chose between the sids but nothing happens when I press enter and when I press space the machine resets. The same happens if i pit the player on the image.

I am running OSX and running the emulator on WineSkins so maybe the problem is there. I however have no other problems.

I am dooing something wrong?

I think it's better to copy all the files (both sid files and the player) into a hard disk directory, set this directory in the emulator as working directory (Options - set working directory). In my machine it works. I don't use disk images just the working directory in the hard drive.

Load any configuration with fileio (for example EP_128k_Tape_FileIO_TASMON.cfg), and set the workinng directory where the SID player and files are extracted.

Strange. With the configuration you state (EP_128k_Tape_FileIO_TASMON.cfg) the player works. But if I choose (EP_128k_EXDOS_FileIO.cfg) then I have the problem again.

Well it works now. Thank you!

Maybe the commands :DEF_DEV_FILE or :DEF_DEV_DISK should be given in IS-BASIC with DISK configs, sometimes I also forget to type them.

I had the same problem, if you cohose an EXDOS with fileIO config and you want to load anything from disk image, then if the file do not exist in the working directory, load will fail.
If you use and EXDOS config without FileIO, then everything is fine, but the best solution what Szipucsu, and Zozosoft mentioned.

EXOS 2.4 beta 2 (http://enterpriseforever.com/dlattach.html;topic=277.0;attach=8037)
What's new from the 2.32 version:
- CPU speed and type (NMOS/CMOS) displayed at the startup. (NMOS Z80 CPUs have know bug with LD A,I , LD A,R instructions)
- the Slow RAM test replaced by Advanced test, this is more accurate, testing with Walking Ones and Zeros, various Inversion tests (00FF,FF00,55AA,AA55), and Pseudo Random Fill test. For testing the DRAM Refresh, after the first phase testing, it is will waiting for a key press, and then will verify again the Random Fill paterns. You can left the machine for a minutes or a hours and after can check the DRAM refresh is worked correctly?
- the CPU clock speed is monitored, and when changed (on turbo machines) the DAVE frequency select (4/6Mhz) on the 191. I/O port is set for the new frequency after few seconds. This make correct sound frequencies on 6Mhz machines. The 191. port is also control the memory wait states, for this new EXOS variable (191) added, you can select which wait states enabled by the automatic 191. port setting. If bit 7 of this variable is disabled, then the automatic 191. port settings is disabled.
- the standalone version of the Quicktest (TWP... files) can be putted to cartridge (on the 4. segment) and use with unmodified machines. Now it is also work with EXOS 2.0 (EP64 machines).

I try to make a fast as possible Enterprise:
Previously 6 and 7.12 MHz turbo modes existed. About 20 years ago I tried 8Mhz but it is unstable. At that time I had only Z80B CPU.

Now I have new Z84C0010PEG CPUs, and standalone crystal oscillators (instead replacing the crystal in the motherboard clock generator circuit).
Firstly tried again the 8Mhz: working! (http://enterpriseforever.com/hardver/hardware-hogyan-apritsuk-miszlikbe-enterprise-unkat/msg32706/#msg32706)

Ok, lets try the 10Mhz: working!!! (http://enterpriseforever.com/hardver/hardware-hogyan-apritsuk-miszlikbe-enterprise-unkat/msg32774/#msg32774)
It looks stable, tested for an hour on two different motherboards, one with the old 08-04 Nick, and one with the new 08-47.
Only very few modifications were needed to reach this speed:
-original 8Mhz System Clock generator circuit replaced with 20Mhz crystal oscillator
-Z80A replaced with 10Mhz Z80
-R12 short circuited
-100ns EPROM used for EXOS
Video memory access controled by Nick fixed timing, then no problem. Other RAM/ROM needed to be replaced with faster ones, but today very fast SRAM and Flash ROM chips are available.

Ok lets try something better :-)
Put a Z180 CPU into the Enterprise! In the old times news about the next Enterprise model developed with Hitachi Super Z80 (Zilog later licensed back, and named to Z180), unfortunately this machine never released.
Now I try to build this configuration.
On same clock speed, the Z180 20-30% faster than the Z80. (http://enterpriseforever.com/hardver/hardware-hogyan-apritsuk-miszlikbe-enterprise-unkat/?action=dlattach;attach=9238)

There is (http://enterpriseforever.com/hardver/hardware-hogyan-apritsuk-miszlikbe-enterprise-unkat/msg32809/#msg32809) the wiring diagram, and photo of the prototype :-)
It is a surprise but working :-D
Current beta version of EXOS 2.4 now can identify and initialise the Z180.

It is a problem, because the Z180 divide by 2 the external clock signal for the CPU core. The stretched CPU clock from the Nick mess up the Z180 CPU core clock generation, then the video accessing is too slow :-(
Now I try to build Wait signal genarator for the video access, then Z180 use the System Clock, and waited by the Wait signal.

Not bad, but the emulator can show programs with extreme "overclocking", and the 3X multiplier is not worth the work maybe, is it ?

And the 6Mhz z80 almost killed the click sound, this machine will kill it, definetly.

Is the click sound the only one speed sensitive/critical part of the exos/exdos ?

This would be an interesting thing, when the cpu clock can be raise to 20,40 or more MHz ... it can be work like an Amiga, or something ... With 100% compatibility, of course.

Don't you think this ?

10Mhz Z80 can be emulated in ep128emu, but for Z180 emulation the CPU emulation part will need extending.

Ok, in future EXOS version the click will be "speed tolerant", just for you :-)

I tried 12.5Mhz Z80, but unstable. Probably the 25Mhz System Clock to high for the Nick clock stertching circuit.
But if the Wait circuit works, then the stertched clock will not be necessary to be used.
Then the next question comes: what is the highest possible Dave frq?

By the way Z180, according to some quick search in google, eg wikipedia article mentiones SPI (and DMA, UART etc) as a built-in feature of some models. That's interesting as having a hardware SPI implementation means easy interfacing (no "glue" MCU needed!) with SPI capable devices, like SD cards in general (but there are many, including eg SPI based FPU with many interesting feature: Micromega's um-FPU, ethernet controllers, memories, RTC, etc, some of them are more common with the slower I2C bus though)...

Enterprise 128 conversion of Amstrad CPC game Star Sabre (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/cpc-jatekok-ep-konverzioi-games-converted-from-cpc/?action=dlattach;attach=9322) . The game is exos compatible, but soft reset does not work on 128Kb machine, because all 128Kb is used. There are 3 bugs, 1st is at the top of the screen sometimes the 1st half of 2nd row is deleted, because write method of score line has been changed, it is in fix position, does not move with other part of the screen like on CPC, therefore delete routine deletes this part of the screen sometimes, the score is refreshed if one enemy killed, left lines refreshed at every frame change, this modification has been made, because the game uses sound envelopes, and it is emulated in 1KHz interrupt so some CPU time had to be saved.
2nd: ALERT! text is written to the screen pixel by pixel, on CPC palette of color 0 is changed in every row several times
3rd: effect on stage 5 is the same like in 2nd.
Controls are:

Enterprise 128 conversion of Amstrad CPC game Gun Fright (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/cpc-jatekok-ep-konverzioi-games-converted-from-cpc/?action=dlattach;attach=9357). The game is EXOS compatible, and runs on EP64 also, however soft reset does not work on EP64, because system segment is used for Video Memory, and littlebit slower than on CPC, the game is littlebit faster on EP128 than on CPC, because the game has been modified, and uses 2 screen for graphics, on CPC there 1 active screen, and a background where the game screen were written, and later it is copied to the active screen.
There is a small bug, which was came by the modification of using 2 active screens for Graphics, on the left side of the screen at the 3. character column sometimes sprite pixels appear, I copy only 4 character from the border, 6, or 7 should be, but I left in this way, I did not want to decrease the speed.

Small modification has been made on Panic Man, when you catch the safety point, the time is now added to the remaining value if there is, in the old version it was loaded with fix 6 second.
The link is updated, it points to the new version.

Hi,
first I apologize my bad English...

I have made small modifications and bugfixes in HiSoft Pascal. I call the new version "1.2".
 * bug in v1.1: if the line begins with 13 spaces it makes silly things - fixed
 * the v1.2 starts with 80 column text screen instead of 40 column screen
 * in v1.2 don't write space after integer number - now it is similar to Turbo Pascal's integer writing
 * the EXOS() function converted to a procedure
the using of EXOS() now is like this:

            10 procedure ToggleVar(x : integer);
            20 begin
            30   rb:=chr(2);
            40   rc:=chr(x);
            50   exos(16);
            60 end;

  * the v1.2 is not case sensitive any more - you can use small letters in code
  * modifications, new functions and procedures:
SetVar(variable, value : integer)    - sets EXOS variable
ClrScr                                       - clears the default screen (channel 121 - editor:)
GotoXY(x,y : integer)                  - set the cursor position to X,Y coordinates on the default channel
Lo(x : integer) : char                   - returns the low byte of an integer
Hi(x : integer) : char                   - returns the high byte of an integer
Swap(x : integer) : integer           - swap the low and hight bytes of an integer
Pi : real                                    - returns 3.14 etc (constans)

Tricks:
if you want to write a text to your own definied video: channel, then write your channel number to 0328h address:
      poke(#328,chr(x));

this poke is valid for Write, WriteLn, GotoXY and ClrScr commands.

Don't forget to set it back before you finish your program!!!

      poke(#328,chr(121));

Test version of  Spectrum Emulator (http://enterpriseforever.com/emulatorok/spectrum-emulator/?action=dlattach;attach=10253) , I hope it does not contain any bugs. If you find any please report it.
The program did not load on EP with 128Kb RAM, it has been corrected.
Menu appears by pressing F1, F8 is emulator reset, quit from emulator: reset.
The program supports SNA and TAP files. You can load/save real spectrum tape too, I have not tried it, but I guess it works well only in slow mode.
F1 : real spectrum load/save or EXOS load/save can be chosen (TAP)
F2 : Attribute conversion mode: 1/3 third of attribute area is converted in one step (default at every interrupt), 1/1 whole attribute area is converted in one step, OFF - attribute conversion is off, DEF - predefined ink and paper color by F3 and F4
F5 : speaker can be turned off/on
F6 : load SNA file
F7 : select TAP file, it can be loaded by LOAD "" command from basic
F8 : speed selection. SLOW - sends 00h to 0bfh port, NORM - sends 04h to 0bfh port, FAST - sends 0ch to 0bfh port (no memory wait)
internal joy left/right : attribute conversion can activate in keyboard routine, attribute conversion will run in every xxx th keyboard routine, it is useful if the interrupts are disabled in a program.
P : cheats can be entered
L / S : quick save/load option into the memory in SNA format, it is available on expanded EP's, at least 160 Kb is required.
internal joy up/down : navigate in the menu

Surprisingly a great number of Spectrum 48 Kb programs run on the emulator. Hopefully in the next days I can make some programs working which do not work at the moment. I plan to make ROM version too, because there are quite a lot of games which write to the ROM area (0000h-4000h), e.g. Monty on the run, these games overwrite the Spectrum ROM, only the reset can solve this problem :D I suggest reloading the emulator after each programs. If you test programs, you can never know when the ROM area was overwritten :D

Finished version of SPemu (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=10357)
Spectrum 48Kb software emulator, it is EXOS compatible, required at least 112 Kb of RAM. 50-60% of Speccy 48Kb programs run on the emulator. FYI: there are many Spectrum programs which writes to ROM area on real spectrum, so it can happen that a game is running on the spectrum emulator but overwrites an area which can cause problem later, so if a program is not starts after another program, then please reset the emulator, and try it again. The emulator accept SNA and TAP files, and real Speccy tapes can be loaded also.
The package contains 2 files:
SPEMU.COM - normal EP executable file
SPemu.tap - TAP file, which can attached to EP128emu and load it to a tape config, or it can be played with TAPIR or EPTE, and load it to a real EP without EXDOS.
Usage of the emulator:

From Speccy screen
F1 - Enter to menu
F8 - Reset SPemu
Reset - Reset computer

In menu screen
F1 - Load mode: OFF=load real spectrum tapes, ON=load files by EXOS
F2 - Attribute conversion settings:
1/3 = 1/3 of the screen is converted at every interrupt
1/1 = full screen is converted at every interrupt
OFF = attribute conversion is disabled
DEF = set user defined paper and pen
F3 - User defined pen colour, it is used only when F2 set to DEF
F4 - User defined paper colour, it is used only when F2 set to DEF
F5 - Silent Mode: ON = sound off       OFF = Sound on
F6 - Load SNA file
F7 - Select TAP file, if the file is selected, then it returns to Speccy screen, where LOAD "" should be entered
F8 - Emulator speed setting:
      SLOW = send 00h to 0BFh port
      NORM = send 04h to 0BFh port
      FAST = send 08h to 0BFh port
Int Joy R/L - sets attribute conversion to 0FEh Port I/O emulation (ex read keyboard on Speccy), it happens every n th emulated port I/O
P - Enter pokes
L - Load a previously saved snapshot from the memory (it is available on EP with at least 160 Kb of RAM), if you try to load a snapshot from the RAM prior you saved one, nothing happens
S - Save a snapshot to memory (it is available on EP with at least 160 Kb of RAM)
Esc - Exit from menu

Add on for SPemu description: The attribute conversion is done in interrupt, so there is no attribute conversion for those games which run with disabled interrupt (ex EXOLON, Last Ninja II), to enable attribute conversion for these games you can set attribute conversion for every n th Port I/O by Int Joy left/Right.

SPemu ROM version (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=10362)

This program is ROM version of SPemu, it can be installed into any ROM slot, there are only 2 restrictions, the 2nd 16K block should follow the 1st one, and on EXOS 2.1 the 1st 16K block of the ROM should be placed to a x0h slot (10h,20h,30h, ...), on later EXOS (like EXOS 2.3) versions it can be placed anywhere.
FBh segment must be present, this segment is used for emulation code, and it is hardcoded to modified Spectrum ROM.
Differences from the non ROM version:
Start the emulation: :SPEMU
quit from emulation:
F3 in spectrum screen - go to Basic
F4 in spectrum screen - go to Wp

The advantage of ROM version is that, the Spectrum ROM stays in ROM, so the programs which write to ROM area will not overwrite anything :D

EXOS 2.4 beta 5 (http://enterpriseforever.com/programozas/exos-2-3-tovabb-fejlesztese/?action=dlattach;attach=10420)
Added new function to quick memory test: with F6 key the cartridge ROMs ignored.
This is for the SD Cartridge. It is hav a Flash ROM which can be updated from Enterprise. But it is surface mounted, if something went to wrong during Flash update then hard to fix it if the system don't start with broken ROM.
With this function can skip the broken ROM and load emergency Flash repair program from floppy (if you have EXDOS card) or tape (from PC audio cable).

Standalone cartridge version of the quick test also included for unopened Enterprises with original EXOS 2.0/2.1

A piece of computer science history is available now on Enterprise! :-)
This is the first product of Microsoft, the BASIC 4K version for the Altair Intel 8080 based computer.

Editing the lines is not very comfortable, because those days the standard output device was the teletype. Backspace is the _ (underline) character, and @ deletes the whole line.

The conversion was inspired by this homepage (and it helped me a lot):
http://altairbasic.org/

The maximum available memory is 16KiB, so entering bigger value than 16384 at the "MEMORY SIZE?" question will cause problems...

SIDBasic (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=11324) is a music Player for the Enterprise whith basic SID emulation (4 waves , envelopes based on 50Hz step rate, ring mod), the program is EXOS compatible, and need's at least 128Kb RAM, recommended quantity is 460Kb, the memory limits of playback time. (with 460Kb RAM and above about 11 min the playback duration, with 128Kb RAM 1 min 49 sec the playback duration), it recognises the Turbo machines also, and set the playback speed based on speed of Z80 (noise is not set for turbo machines)
The package contains the method how S64 files can be done from SID files in file CreS64.TXT in folder CRES64

Playback on 4-8 MHz machines is 8 KHz, above 8MHz it is 15KHz. The program works fine also on emulator if you change the CPU frequency, but do not change frequency of Dave.

Conversion of  the CPC game Ikari Warriors (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/cpc-jatekok-ep-konverzioi-games-converted-from-cpc/?action=dlattach;attach=11407), EXOS compatible, it runs on EP64 too, but in slow motion mode :D, and there is no soft reset. If the program is loaded from tape, and IKARI.HI file is not available then press STOP at the end of loading to start the game. The game saves the Hi Score table after soft reset only in case cheats were not selected.

Controls:
redefinable keys (including Int Joy) , EXT1/2 joy
Hold: pause
Stop: exit from game

EP conversion of the ZX Spectrum game Buzzsaw+ (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/egyeb-misc/?action=dlattach;attach=11544), the game is EXOS compatible, it runs on EP64 too without soft reset, and raster bar has been removed from the game because CPU time needed to resolve the flashing sprites.
Addons: loading screen flashing effect has been implemented, and scrolling heads were added, the bottom of the loading screen got new colors raster added for Joffa text, and there is also an ingame raster bar, spectrum beeper music got instruments, and sound of buzzsaw has been changed, other beeper effects have been changed to Dave sounds.
Pause:               HOLD
Exit from game:  ESC in Pause mode
Ingame cheat:    CTRL + left SHIFT in pause mode
F1/F2:               switch off ingame raster bar

Yes, or it could be much better I think, a good programmer with a good graphic could do it, not like me ;)
I forgot to mention, at the beginning you can change the instrument sets by int joy left/right, if i remember well, there are 12 variations of 4 instruments and 2 drums.

8bit WAVPlayer (http://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=11626) is a utility which can play back WAV files with 8 bit samples, from 1,2 KHz to 32KHz speed, samples between 32-64KHz are played back on 32KHz, above 65535 Hz played back frequency mod(freq/65535).
Supported files: WAV (RIFF,NIST), AIFF, IFF files (signed /unsigned 8-32bit, stereo/mono (playback is always mono)), but the player plays only unpacked samples. At least an Enterprise with 128KB RAM is necessary for the program, the best if you have as much as possible :D , any size of WAV file can be loaded it loads till reaches end of memory.
ESC: select new WAV file, hold down ESC longer time, keyboard is checked at every memory paging which means 1 second for a 16KHz sample.
Left SHIFT+ESC: background will not change (machines without EXDOS)
Left SHIFT: hold it when during file selection (SPACE) if file menu to skip background changing (with EXDOS)

SPEmu128 (https://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=13175)
Spectrum 128Kb software emulator, it is EXOS compatible, required at least 192 Kb of RAM (ROM Version 160Kb). 30-40% of Speccy 128Kb programs run on the emulator. FYI: there are many Spectrum programs which writes to ROM area on real spectrum, so it can happen that a game is running on the spectrum emulator but overwrites an area which can cause problem later, so if a program is not starts after another program, then please reset the emulator, and try it again (this problem does not occur with ROM version). The emulator accept SNA and TAP files, and real Speccy tapes can be loaded also.
The package contains 2 files:
SPEMU128.COM - normal EP executable file
SPEMU128.ROM - ROM file, this ROM file should be inserted to any x0-x2 segment (eg 30h-32h, 40h-42h) in case of EXOS 2.1 and at any continous 3 segments in case of EXOS 2.3 or later.
Usage of the emulator:

From Speccy screen
F1 - Enter to menu
F3 - return to Basic (ROM version only)
F4 - return to WP (ROM version only)
F8 - Reset SPemu
Reset - Reset computer

In menu screen
F1 - Load mode: OFF=load real spectrum tapes, ON=load files by EXOS
F2 - Attribute conversion settings:
1/3 = 1/3 of the screen is converted at every interrupt
1/1 = full screen is converted at every interrupt
OFF = attribute conversion is disabled
DEF = set user defined paper and pen
F3 - User defined pen colour, it is used only when F2 set to DEF
F4 - User defined paper colour, it is used only when F2 set to DEF
F5 - Sound Mode:
STR = Stereo (Beeper very silent)
MON = Mono (Beeper has normal volume)
OFF = Sound off (beeper very silent, AY off)
F6 - Load SNA file
F7 - Select TAP file, if the file is selected, then it returns to Speccy screen, where LOAD "" should be entered
F8 - Emulator speed setting:
      SLOW = send 00h to 0BFh port
      NORM = send 04h to 0BFh port
      FAST = send 08h to 0BFh port
Int Joy R/L - sets attribute conversion to 0FEh Port I/O emulation (ex read keyboard on Speccy), it happens every n th emulated port I/O
P - Enter pokes
L - Load a previously saved snapshot from the memory (it is available on EP with at least 160 Kb of RAM), if you try to load a snapshot from RAM prior to saved one, nothing happens
S - Save a snapshot to memory (it is available on EP with at least 160 Kb of RAM)
Esc - Exit from menu

Small modification happened in SPEmu128, the link updated in post below:
- Sound is off after reset (F8 pressed)
- content of ROM's are copied back from backup segment to the RAM where emulator use them after every reset (F8)
- small modification in conversion table, Rocky Horror Show now works.

Kempston Mouse emulation added to SPEmu128 (https://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=15834), it can be used with EnterMice, or BoxSoft mouse.
There are programs attached also in the package which use Kempston Mouse, and started with SPEmu128, unfortunately I could not test mouse functionality.
UFO2 also starts, just press a space on the strange screen, some programs starts onyl in 48K mode, some starts when 1st it failed in 128K mode, and SPEmu reset to 48K mode automatically.

It is a problem if you can't test the mouse movement to enhance emulation.  Some programs behave strangely, but there are a lot that move perfectly.

Thanks for your hard work.

Does it mean the cursor jumps to different positions in the screen?
I tried an emulator in PC which had KM emulation, and I could not use the mouse in the programs, because jumping cursor.
Where the mouse moves fine, does it's speed also fine? (not too fast)

Exactly, on some programs the pointer jumps randomly making the game unplayable. On the games it works, the movement is smooth.

I have experienced mixed results, probably not due to your emulator, but to the K-m conversion done in the Spectrum program.

On some programs on which the pointer moved correctly, reaching to some part of the screen caused a reset or a hang on the emulated machine.

I think it will be better to do a list of working programs. There are so much variables on this.

Strange, I think it was not caused by Mouse, I think it could be an "emulator" problem, eg interrupt, but I will check if I save and restore all necessary registers in KM emulation.

I have tested your emulator more thoroughly.

It seems that the random movement pointer on XEP128 running your SP128 is an error with mouse caption on some PCs.

Only a few of your selection of games refuse to load or hang once loaded.

Tomorrow I will test other games on the Velesoft page.

Yesterday I installed the SP128 Rom on XEP, and tested all the Tap files that geco selected.

Some of them worked on 128k, others on 48k. A few of them needed to load and auto-reset previously on 128k to work on 48k. (Is this soft 48k?)

Only three of the Tap files hanged just once loaded, the rest gave me a good pointer movement altough a few of them hanged during play-time.

I didn't notice slowdown playing with mouse compared with joystick playing. Some of the games offered full multi-instrument(beep) music during play-time with no slowdown.

Today I will test your advice and all the Sna files. Also I will test the same on the real EP, loading SP128, not in Rom.

Some of the games seem to me real treasures to make EP conversions.

A few of them needed to load and auto-reset previously on 128k to work on 48k. (Is this soft 48k?)
Yes.
The "hard 48k" mode, when you select 48K Basic from the menu, or enter SPECTRUM command in 128K Basic. This is set the 48K bit in the ULA, and it is disable the memory paging then 128K memory not available.
If you run the reset routine from the 48K ROM (the USR(0) trick) then 48K Basic started, but the 128K memory still available.

Now on the real thing, it is very hard to load a Tap file.

I managed Symcity, but the pointer jumped like a fool...

I can't load any Tap in soft 48k mode. Don't know if the problem is that
Spemu128 is not the Rom version(due to Rom writes).

128k snapshots are  loaded, some with good movement.

I don't worry very much of the results of Spemu128+EnterMice on the real thing, I had similar errors converting Pasziansz, XEP was the first to accept my work... But it is a good start.

The list of tested Tap files on XEP continue here:

Xcel                works

SIDBasic (https://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=17478)

Latest release of SIDBASIC, software SID music player, it plays converted SID music on a pure Enterprise 128KB machine without any hardware addon.
The software is EXOS compatible. If your config has any file handling device ( floppy disk controller, SD Card ) then after pressing ESC file selection menu appears, if you have tape config just load the chosen M64 file.
It decompress 8KB data blocks during playing music, this was the key to be able playing full musics on a 128 KB machine.
Limitations: maximum M64 file length is 24320 bytes which can be loaded (5f00h), SYNC, High Pass, Low Pass filters are not implemented, digi effects can not be played back.
Combined waveforms are not working correctly: in this case the conversion is done with priority noise > sawtooth > triangle > square wave.

Controls:
1 - play music with internal Dave chip
2 - play music with external 8bit DAC card if exist
3 - raster bar on (it works only 50Hz playback speed musics)
4 - raster bar off
Esc - file selection

IstvánV has made an update for the EP128Emu, it can handle midi input. So you can play midi files on your PC, using the emulator! Of course, this uses the capabilities of the Dave chip. If you play a midi file, you can hear it through the emulator. As the Enterprise handles 3 sound channles and 1 noise channel, the midi file has to be modified as most midi files use much more voices. The most important thing is that István has also created a converter and player program, so you can convert midi files into Enterprise formats so you can play them loading into a real Enterprise.
Thus you can create music much more easily for the Enterprise! We know that a lot of people had problems with creating music for the programs.
For more information see Wiki: Enterprise MIDI in English (https://wiki.enterpriseforever.com/index.php?title=Enterprise_MIDI_English)

MOD Player (https://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=21784) for Enterprise based on Stefan Drissen's MOD Player on SAM Coupé. The program is EXOS compatible, it recognize turbo machines, and based on the CPU speed sets the playback speed, on a normal 4MHz EP the playback speed is 9,2 KHz, one remark for the turbo machines, the player can set the playback speed by 2MHz step of CPU speed, for example 7,12 MHz EP will have the same playback speed as 6MHz EP (13,7 KHz), 8 MHz EP has 18,4 KHz. RAM expansions are fully supported, all available RAM can be used. There is 32KB free RAM for MOD's on an EP128, but a 32KB of size MOD can not be loaded, because looping samples needs additinal gaps at the end of sample, and the gap varies based on the size of the loop size, so it can happen one 24KB mod can be played on EP128, but another 24KB mod can not, on an EP with 1MB RAM expansion probably you will see Not enough memory very rarely :)
Controls:
Esc - load new file (file selection menu appears if EXDOS exists)
1-4 - turn channel 1-4 off/on
5 - turn on all 4 channels
6 - playback with Dave
7 - Playback with external 4 channel 8bit D/A

Great, Geco!

Now, with a cheap bus expander at hand, is easier to build the external D/A converter....

Are there schematics about it?

I think "playback speed" is not a good phrase. the better is "playback sampling (rate)"

Thanks to Lacika, a new bug has been corrected in MOD Player (https://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=21784), if a mod did not have empty sample then the player created it to wrong place, and overwrote code part, it is corrected in both ROM and file version.
Previous links have been corrected, and points to the new file.

I have not good news.

I have been testing both versions, the result is that the file manager behaviour is being the same.
Neither spemu nor spemu128 have worked for me with what we follow at the same point.

Treasure Cave  (https://enterpriseforever.com/letoltesek-downloads/enterprise-software/?action=dlattach;attach=22566) bug fixed
Szipucsu, and Lacika found 2 bugs:
Border effect did not stop, because if last coin was catched just before 1 sec left from cheat, then border effect was not turned off
Game freezed if player did not wait game over music until it's end, because modified player for game over music was not changed back to it's original state.
