Btw, an interesting piece for SymbOS & ASM programming: https://github.com/z00m128/sjasmplus/pull/116

SJASMplus seems to have some on-going works to support SymbOS relocation table support. As far as I know, till now only winAPE's bult-in assembler supported the needed functionality.

Hi there,

We were speaking about writing a Symbiface3 USB driver to use this feature under SymbOS on the EP. I checked the MSX and the CPC M4 driver, and as I saw there is only 3 OS calls that have to be implemented by a driver to make a storage device work. Two sector based I/O calls using LBA, and a drive ready call. Then Gflorez said that there already is a SF3 driver for the CPC, and as we see, it could be easily - or with some port number modifications - used for the EP as well. But they said that the current EP version of SymbOS is using some other mechanism, I guess EXDOS calls for storage manipulation.

My question is: is there or can a version of EP SymbOS be made with the original sector based calls, so that we can make a try with porting the CPC SF3 driver for the EP? Please, release the hive mind knowledge about it! :)

Thx,
Agent K

I don't think we should go that far ... :)
You can first manage the extended partitions of Szergely's SD card.
Anyway, SymCommander really does use EXDOS.
