Title: Top of the morning!
Post by: sir_beaker on 2014.November.03. 23:49:51
Hi,

I've been reading a few posts this evening about SD cards in development which sounds great, and recognise a few faces from Amibay so fair to say I am in the right place :)

I recently acquired an Enterprise Sixty Four which my good friends on Amibay have upgraded to colour composite and 128k, just missing a joystick topper which I've pestered Bluesbrothers about again tonight lol.

Basically I am a complete n00b and just got as far as turning on the machine to make sure it powers up so if anyone can point me to any good guides to get me started on the machine, I would appreciate it. I am in the middle of going through a large number of machines I received in a pallet from the UK a few weeks back including a PC-FX, PC Engine LT, MSX2, the Enterprise 64, TRS-80, CBM Pet, Atari Jaguar, Oric, Acorn Atom and about a dozen more machines and consoles including SD card solutions like the MegaFlashROM, PetDisk, AtomMMC, Mega Everdrive etc.... Nice in principal but I am very overwhelmed at the moment and never seem to have enough hours in a day. That'll teach me lol.

I actually only booted up the machine this afternoon for the first time to test my RGB cable from Retro Towers which arrived today and turns out doesn't fit because of the plastic guides on the port so hoping they can sort me out after I emailed them this afternoon :)

If they can't, can anyone recommend a good place to buy one, would be prepared to make me one for a fee as I prefer having the best image from each machine I buy?

Thanks in advance,

Welcome!

Very good looking EP64!

Probably your cable manufactured to uncased motherboard  need some side cutting. Or buy another one what suggested below.

Just for my statistic (http://enterprise.iko.hu/inventory.htm) can you send the serial number of your machine?

Yeah, I had no idea of what it looked like until it turned up. My friend said if I wanted it I could have it for £100 so very happy. The box is a little worn but all the manuals, guarantee card etc looks bright and new.

Thanks for the recommendation for the scart. I used them for my x68000 cables a few months ago so I might cut my losses with my current one and buy that instead :)

The serial number is 000873

Nice early one! Do you opened it or already opened when you got it? I guess opened because keyboard membrane repair.

Thanks :)

Not sure if the membrane has been replaced, I'll have to ask. I know it was opened to have the extra 64k fitted and the colour composite mod recently before I received it.

Cool, ordered on of the scart cables from the Spanish site and a joystick adapter for my x68000 in case my FM Towns controller ever bites the dust. I assume I can also use it in the FM Towns lol
