Title: My Enterprise 64 & 128 : The Story
Post by: ikduncan on 2013.April.08. 15:05:09
zozo suggested you may like to hear about my "special" enterprises.

I recently purchased an EP64 and a very early EP128 from a UK seller on Ebay.

I bid on both hoping to get one, and ended up winning both.

Bare Machines no Leads/Software/Carts

Machines arrived in somewhat ugly condition but fully functioning and one clean up later looked good as new.

I contacted the seller and asked if there was any chance they had some of the missing parts, and how they came to be selling
an EP64 and EP128.

The seller responded that she was slowly clearing out her Father in Laws old computer stuff and the machines had belonged to the
software company he owned back in the 80s. Owner was Sandy Marchant, Bubble Bus Software. http://www.crashonline.org.uk/20/news.htm (http://www.crashonline.org.uk/20/news.htm)
He is pictured here in Crash Magazine!

So it transpires my two Enterprises were the development machines used to encode "Wizards Lair" back in 84/85.

I received in the post today a package from seller containing some manuals, 2 x Carts (Basic?), 2 x Demo Cassettes (1 sealed unopened),
and a copy of "Wizards Lair" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway hope you agree that makes my machines very interesting as Wizards Lair is probably one of best games on the system!

Here are my two lovely Enterprise Machines, all cleaned and restored to their former glory and 100% operational, alongside the game they created....

Hmmm... these looks VERY good on these pictures...

I have some EPs, and I have some of them in very good condition, but these looks perfect in these pictures.

Is this only the effect of the photos, or do they exactly look like this in the real world ?

I think these machines used only for few months while the game developed.
Machines what can you found in Hungary used for 5-10-... years!

When the 3D printing will be usable generally, I will print green joy caps for all of my EPs. Those looks cool.

Hmmm... after some trying we will be able to make whole EP cases, don't we ? Perfect ones like these!

Good idea! I can't understand why changed to grey on EP128???

I cannot understand too. Green is simply better. But with 3D printing ... everything will be possible again, and much more.

Ty all

Yes they are as good as they look in the pics.

Think they had been very lightly used then in storage for newrly 30 years, had to clean them up quite thoroughly but underneath the grime they were perfect like new.

I think they changed to grey stick and cart with no label as it looked more professional for sale as business rather than games.

Yes zozo carts work ok. One has a bad lookong capacitor on it, what is the spec of the capacitor in the cart?

One little thing still missing: the function keys label.
There is the BASIC side (http://gafz.enterpriseforever.com/Galery/Alapgep/Picture/FKEY-BASIC_big.gif) and WP side. (http://gafz.enterpriseforever.com/Galery/Alapgep/Picture/FKEY-WP.gif)

Did you print it on normal paper?

For now, with a laser printer on ordinary office paper.

Test print on photo.
