Here you have my bad translation of the mentioned first part of the MIDI article.

In it the authors mention a MIDI.BAS demo of the MIDI approach. But there is no such program in the magazine.

Is for that I think that a tape or disc companion came with the Enterface issues. On some of them there is a list of published listings.

midi hw is not commonly used here, but if we can read midi files - it can be good

I think that the Enterprise is not so powerful to manage an effects full loaded Midi song, mainly because its Serial port is software driven. But this has to be probed practically, because on many other aspects it has surprised us. Before reading this article I didn't know that the Enterprise serial port was able to reach 31250 baud/sec....

This approach can have some incompatibility with EnterMice, as the RTS line at the Serial port is also used for mouse comunication, theoretically only while  a mouse channel is open.

I still have not played with this project because is somewhat incomplete. But although incomplete, I think there is sufficient information to make a little Basic program to test some notes.

I will try to connect to Rene ter Horst who wrote the article and find out if he has some material to add.

But exist a hw midi interface.

But , how about the schematics and the ROM? are they accessible?

I have a MIDI keyboard and  Yamaha DB50XG and DB60XG boards.

I like to connect things together.... I am not a piano player, only an aficionado to electronic music, for me MIDI is very much like robotics.
