I am actually installing EXOS2.4 on a EP 128 issue 6, never opened, and to my surprise, the Joystick cross press directly and dangering over the membrane points.

Externally the feel is normal, there is no looseness on the stick, but I think that I must find some elastic material to supply the ring.

This German keyboard EP comes froM Hungary, in a very good state.

No without red ring. The keyboard can be removed without need to break the warranty label. Probably someone earlier removed it for cleaning, and forgot to put back the red ring.

Originally the rubber keymat also used for the joystick, but it didn't work properly, then it was replaced with the red ring, started at 1984 October 30.

As always you are right. The good part is that the owner didn't break the membrane, it still works perfect.

Then I will create a replica of the ring.

Soon I will show you the serial number and the name of the final owner.

The original ring measures 42,5mm outer diameter, 26,5mm inner, and 2,5mm thick.

I have found one made of gum that will suit.

It is only 2mm thick, but a little harder. The diameters are similar.

It will last forever....

Will there be fit standard 1.5 inch rubber gasket ?

Exactly, I have put an oil cap gasket made of synthetic gum, but 1,5mm is not enough. Mine is 2mm and still has an almost unnoticeable gap in the movement.

The original ring is 2,5mm thick. Maybe more than that could break the case when its screws are tighten.
