ZIP drive
« on: 2008.May.14. 10:37:28 »
Hi Folks.
Has anyone tried to attach a Iomega zipdrive to an EP? These drives are nowadays very cheap and I think that this would be a good solution for storing datas. On the web exist several solutions also for old computers. I´ve looked around the web and got some infos about drivers for zip drives but did not found a technical manual for zip 100 drives for the parallel port. Maybe one of you has some informations.
Greetings

I think in the future will be added support for ZIP/LS-120/CD/DVD drives for the Enterprise IDE card.

A big problem with the parallel port devices: the Enterprise Printer Port not a bidirectional! And more simplified than the standard printer ports.

You are right Zozo. I thought about an external solution for the communication, with a pio attached to the expansion port.
How far is the development status for ide cards?
