Enterprise sixty four just died
« on: 2024.September.08. 15:15:25 »
I took my enterprise sixty four out on Friday to use it and the video was wavy.  Tried Scart and RF and different TVs and got the same results.  Came to work on it today and it was just giving me a black screen.  Opened it up and found c9 is way off and will test TR2 and TR3 in a bit.  C9 is an old Philips capacitor, the black band on it suggests negative but looking at the board it seems to be in the wrong way round.  Removing C9 the black band was towards the outer edge of the board but there is only a thin line leading away from that.  The other end of it had a thick trace that has continuity to ground.
Going to put the new cap in the same way as the old one it's just nagging me that it doesn't look right.

Thank you for the help.  Replacement bipolar cap and 337-040 transistor arrived today.  All working again :)  Now to put it back together without damaging the keyboard connector
