A rather strange one: a Nick chip in a holder!

How can it be ? How can appear an unused nick chip from the nowhere ? And if it can be, there can be more, maybe ... Is it the only- one ? This nick's story is more interesting/important than itself, isn't it ?

If it is unused, it might not work, might it? As I know, if those components aren't used for a long time, they may go wrong. (As, for example, the cassette tape players, if you do not use them for many-many years.)

Electrical and mechanical items are different things! For your example the tape player has a lot of rubber parts which can be deformed when not used.

That EP128 looks nice, box in good condition.

Zozo, on a different note I have a spare 64K internal memory expansion if you
know anyone who might like it.  I was going to upgrade my EP64 but I decided
not to as I already have a EP128.  This is an original EP memory upgrade and
will need to be soldered in.

Many years ago he is got a big heap of vintage computing stuff from a friend who is worked in computer service at lot of times ago.But don't know why included the Nick chip in this package, because he is repaired mostly Commodore machines.
Only this one Nick chip.

Now reduced to 299 :-)

Another Arabic EP64

Boxed German EP128

Another boxed German EP128, interesting: it is from UK, and the PSU has a UK plug.

I wouldn't attach any meaning to having a UK plug: it is simple to cut off a two-pin plug and replace with a UK plug - that's what I did on mine. Only I fitted a black one to match better :)

Cheap Arabic EP64.
It is out of order, but I think it is very easy to repair! From the failure details I think (99.999%) the internal 12V PSU circuit doesn't work. (It is used by the PAL video ICs and the internal speaker amplifier.)
It is a very common problem. The TR2 (BC337) transistor is dead, needed to be replaced. It can be damaged again by the dried out C9 capacitor, it's a good idea to replace this, especially if the motherboard uses PHILIPS electrolytic capacitors.

The machine has the green joy cap which is a rare treasure! :-)

Cartridge in another auction.

An Enterprise 128 has just appeared on eBay.

I may put in a low bid on this on the off-chance, but I'd expect this to go for a couple of hundred, so not really for me. :)

Especially as I will have an Enterprise 576 before long. Hurry up postal service...
