He soon will have a SF3+adapter only for the Enterprise, so plenty of Ram/Rom and more.

About the SD adapter(ask SzörG) and EnterMice(ask Pear), I promised to put him in contact with the developers.

Edit: The only problem I see with an EP64 is EXOS 2.0, but it has easy fix.

Normally that should not cause problem.

When programing, new EXOS compatible programs :-) Also not problem with the new or fixed programs from about the latest ~15 years.

Hello everyone, my first post here :) I never used enterprise but I wanted to buy it for some time and managed to get one from this guy from Egypt.

I will take my time to learn about it, but I will first get some hardware additions and then the software.

Model I bought is 64, it came with original box with power supply, some (I guess) audio cables, IS-BASIC, unopened demonstration cassette, 2 small and 1 big manual.

Teopl

Out of curiosity did you buy it from this person?  https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/son.of.sun?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754

I just received an Enterprise 64 from him. It had the PSU, computer, tape and manuals but appears to be missing the IS-BASIC cartridge,

It seems a reseller, not Retrocables themselves.

Edit: No, they are really them going mad...... It is even worse, 55,18+16,56 =71,74 Euro against 19,99+shipping on their own web site.

I have put a complaint on their website.

Yes, I know that the "Retrocables" is 19.99€  :)
"Retrocables" are also expensive

gflorez:

"Your cables had always seemed affordable to me and I have recommended them, but I do not know what justifies that the same Enterprise cable that you sell here for 20 Euros+postage, you put it on sale on Ebay for 55,17 Euros. It is that not even paying the commission to Ebay and Paypal is justified such a profit margin.

I'm thinking to compete with you with a better and cheaper cable, which could be easy.

I understand that yours is a business, but those of us who buy from you are modest amateurs, not stupid who have to be squeezed. Retro-computing has to remain a hobby, not elitism
."

Retrocables:

"The price difference is due to the immediacy, the cables on the web are subject to a manufacturing period of 15 working days. While ebay is manufactured on the day, what is being paid is the extra hour that the person in charge of the manufacture will do that day, so as not to affect the rest of the customers who have placed their order on the web. If we were to sell it at the same price, it would be unfair for those who buy them on the web since those from eBay would have preferential treatment for being manufactured on the day.

The shipping costs are due to the fact that the item is on ebay UK, and they are the common costs of European shipments, you can not differentiate shipping Spain. We include it on ebay at that price since many customers in Europe have asked us for a preferential manufacturing.

Prices on the web have practically not changed in 9 years, despite increasing the quality (all cables have been shielded for a few years and with a cable manufactured in Spain (much more expensive than imported ones, but we prefer cable manufactured in Spain), which rises every year) and those that have risen have been due to improvements (3D housings for example) or due to a very high rise in materials that we have not been able to assume.

All our profits are reinvested in the company, to make new products or increase the catalog.

Greetings and thank you
"

I still think the same, they are fostering elitism on retro-computing.

Well, if the eBay offer would be advertised as a "we'll drop everything we're currently doing to supply your order immediately" premium, alternatively "buy at our web store for 30€ less and wait" offer - fine with me. But it isn't.

As it looks to me, every cable sold on eBay would make me wait even longer for the cable bought on the web store.

In fact, the web store has the following nice addition - not sure if that's a recent one:

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

That promises a 15-day-delivery as well.... (A promise never kept in my experience)

So, all-in-all, another sign that retro hobby is becoming more and more expensive. But: Prices are driven by the market......

Bla,Bla,Bla...

Retrocables:
The price difference is due to the immediacy, the cables on the web are subject to a manufacturing period of 15 working days.

They take advantage of the fact that you can't buy one elsewhere.
I took my first cable from them and waited a month for it. It was very expensive and the EP connector is a joke.
That’s why I made myself a quality cable.

Just to say:
Judge cable approx. 10x better quality than Retrocables.
You can see the difference even on a Philips CM8833 monitor!

They have had always the same advert about making time. And it is a dirty excuse for me the  claim that they use "Spanish  parts", more expensive.... It is a fake  to catch the worst nationalism.
