Title: Any WIndows 7/8 Emulators being actively developed?
Post by: jonesypeter on 2013.June.06. 22:45:24
Hi,

With ep128EMU last being updated in 2011, I wonder if there were any Enterprise emulators still being developed?

Best wishes

ep128emu can run on Windows 7, only one problem: can't write to real floppy disks.
With this updated EXE (http://enterpriseforever.com/ep128emu/ep128emu/?action=dlattach;attach=9143) this problem solved.

Why do you want a still being developed version and not an already ready one? :) Of course no software can be really ready, but as far as I can tell, ep128emu is quite OK (with some minor bugfixes what Zozo mentioned) to be used. And btw ep128emu is a cross-platform stuff, which is cool, because personally I am not interested in windows, but I know that others are.

We are in contact with the developer of ep128emu, he communicate us often. This emulator seems the most complete and up to date. As far as we know, there is no EP emulator developed more actively.

In the last times, IstvanV (developer of ep128emu) enhanced the Spectrum and CPC parts of the ep128emu. ep128emu is a multimachine emulator now. There are areas where the enterprise part could enhance, too, but the programmers (mostly IstvanV) resources never enough.

So it is all what we have, but it is near perfect in functionality. Of course, many things could be better and greater, but those things are not crucial.

Thanks for the update everyone.

Could I request through this forum a version of EP128 which does not need to be installed.  So a zip file which could just me then unzipped and run from a USB site without installing.

Thanks
